Week 2, Entry 1
May. 29th, 2022 12:37 amYesterday I did my orientation with my martial arts instructor. He is a little hard to understand sometimes, and he talks a lot, but I suppose he’ll get easier to understand over time.
He wants me to start running, because you have to run 5 miles in 25 minutes for one of the exams. I’ve never been a great runner, but I suppose I’m going to have to learn to be. Luckily, we don’t need to wear shoes in the Temple, so I can use the exercise shoes for running. We also have to not wear watches or jewelry in class.
The only frustrating part, I suppose, was how he kept asking if my heart would be able to handle all this exercise, and how my training will make me more mindful of what I eat. I told him that I mostly eat fruit for sweets, and only drink soda once every three months. He didn’t seem convinced, but that’s just how things are going to be, I guess.
