Week 32, Entry 5

It's been 32 weeks since I started this project.

I've been through several online communities, injured myself in multiple ways, been sick more times than I have been in the last four years. I bought new books, and moved my room's furniture about. I haven't heard from Mal since that single message on Week 11. I went to Omaha, and met Kevin in real life. I dealt with a haunting. I had surgery.

Admittedly, I don't consider the year to truly have started until March, but the calendar still switches over this evening. And I went through several books of mine that I got at the Planned Parenthood sale today, and figured out that I can't really use them. At least that's more books that I don't need and can thus get rid of!

It's been gloriously rainy all day. See you all in the next calendar year.

Week 32, Entry 6

Today, I was telling Olivia about some of the failed social events that CSUCI held. One of which was an ice cream social, which was massively under-provisioned, and turned into mild anarchy. But I remembered as well, that that's where I met Michael. We only met a couple of times, Michael and I, but he made an incredible impact on me.

For one thing, he made soul drawings, although I never saw any of those, and he gifted me a charm of courage that I still have. But the night I nearly punched in that window, he walked me around until I was calmed down again. And he told me something that is valuable, if nothing else. His father had been a military man, you see, and Michael said to me that I needed to stay as far away from anything related to the military as I could, --

They'll turn you into a monster, Jon.

I don't doubt he was right.
And given that, from what else he mentioned, I was a 5'1 and AFAB clone of his dad, I'm not surprised that he cut off contact, either.
