A Busy Samhain
Oct. 31st, 2023 11:12 pmI was at a convention earlier this year, and saw a stuffed figure of an ermine for sale. He more or less demanded I get him. He has a jeweled bracelet around his neck, and no tag or any other sign of being made commercially. I did not cleanse him when I got home, and that's on me. The way he behaved was really quite sensible, we worked together well. He had his special place in the house, although he would sometimes be fussy about being touched or not touched at certain times, but all of that was to be expected. He's been in the room during lots of cleanings, and never reacted negatively to them. I wrapped him in silk for months, and he'd come out fine. He didn't start getting irritated until the mala came.
Recently, his words have become more and more intense, and I was not sure what to do. I had to go out of the room to talk to friends about this, because he's been watching me constantly. He described himself as being like the old kind of familiar, where the power(s) speak(s) through him, and he was getting angrier. I was recommended to do a cleansing ritual for him tonight, so I began to
He screamed quite a bit when I cleansed him. Kept changing his story -- he was a parasite, he was a messenger, he wasn't anything, he was a demon -- and gave me the usual spitting, mocking, chattering line. Kept trying to bite me, and at the end, told me that I would pay for what I had done. But since he'd been saying similar things for the entire time, I'm not sure how seriously to take it.
I tried to do another ritual after the cleansing was completed, and I could feel Pan coming through then, and he told me that work was over for tonight, I was going to clean up, recharge my mala, go downstairs and have dinner, with plenty of protein and vegetables. That the spirit connected to the mala may be old, but the mala itself is young. The mala was actually quite exhausted, and so was I.
