The past few days have definitely been interesting, at least from my point of view.

Yesterday, I went with my father to drop off my sister at work. He was going to the library, but I wanted to go look over at the art supply store and potentially the crystal shop. I walked all the way over to the art supply store, because I knew it would take the longest to reach. My feet hurt somewhat, but I didn't hurt by the end of the day.

I wasn't sure if I'd be able to find what I was looking for there, and thought I should just go to look over at things and not pick up anything yet. But I immediately found two things I've been trying to find for a while -- a copy of my favorite coloring book from when I was a child, and inexpensive clay. I chose air-dry clay, and the coloring book is great. That way, I can print as many pages as I would like to color in!

My sister also bought me two antler-tip necklaces, which was very surprising and sweet.

Today, I went to Home Depot with my parents to look at some paint chips to consider for my room. I got three, but then decided that as long as I was there, I should look at dowels and cedar chips, if they were so available. I saw some nice wooden accents, but ultimately decided against them. However, I ended up getting a lamp base and two knobs!

The lamp base works perfectly for my purple glass lampshade, and looks much better than the lamp-base it came with. I am using it now, and am very happy for finding something so beautiful.

The first knob is...silvery? I don't know, that usual brushed grey metal, but the top of the knob is blue-green seaglass. Which is absolutely perfect for cabinets in the decorating style that my parents are going for downstairs. It wouldn't be for all the cabinets, of course, but certainly the top six that most people see.

The second one is sort of flower-shaped, and I chose it to try and replace the brushed grey metal handles on the cabinets in my room. They're terribly clinical-looking. I'd like to replace the doors of the cabinets as well, but that would be almost $700 !

I ended up feeling very depressed this evening, though. I wish I could work out more, but my feet hurt after just walking from one end of Home Depot to the other and back. They've only stopped hurting now, and it's hours later. I wasn't sure about swimming, so I didn't...anyhow, Mom's pointed out that I'm not even though the basic six weeks of recovery, let alone eight. I'm going to see the podiatrist this week, and I'll ask him about going to the physical therapist to find out what I should work on next.
