Week 51, Entry 3
May. 19th, 2023 09:07 pmThis has been a very busy week. I am at trainings a great deal, but I am picking up information quickly and efficiently. Everyone has been very nice to me so far, and one of the people I especially look forwards to working with, Cirstyn, she started in September and she says that everyone at the library is just like that. I am coming home tired every day, but I am becoming better and better adapted as the days go on. It is hard work, but not impossible, simply challenging.
The only thing that I've had real trouble with is that we've got construction going on, and there's jackhammering nearly every day. Today was very lucky, in that there was no jackhammering during my shift, but the rest of the days this week, it's been so intense that one day the library was reading at 100 decibels, and all the windows and display cases shudder. Yesterday, it got so intense that it felt like my bones were vibrating!
I got wonderful news from Kevin today -- he's leaving California at the end of the month. In fact, he might even be inheriting a house! I'm very excited for him, he deserves a win, after everything that's happened to him. I also got very good news yesterday, because there was my annual TCRC meeting, and my case manager says that I am doing very well. In fact, I am doing so well in his opinion that I could start moving towards being entirely employed by the Library in less than a year.
