Week 52, Entry 1
May. 22nd, 2023 10:59 pmOne year.
One year ago today, I hurt Mal so much through my actions that he decided he could not trust me.
I have improved since that time, but I still don't think it's right for me to reach out to him and say. Even if I think I can prove that I've changed, it doesn't mean that he will be interested in reconciling so soon.
But I have grown a lot in the past year, and I suppose that that is what's more important, since I have to live with myself.

Week 52, Entry 2
May. 22nd, 2023 11:14 pmToday, I rode my bike, Thoat, for the first time in 13 months. First I washed him, and then Papa and I put a new back tube on his tire! Once that was done, Papa and I rode him to see how he moved. I just rode for about 20 minutes, doing circles and loop-the-loops around the parking lot. My legs were starting to get tired after that, so I decided to cut my losses and dismount.
He's such a good bike, and looks so much better now that he's fixed up. Well, he looks a bit better, he'll always look like a bit of a beater because of his distinctive coloring. Someone thought dark metallic plum with burnt orange lettering and black accents was a great idea, don't ask me who.
Today, I also called around for quotes on returning to riding lessons. If I'm making money, and I can't reasonably move, then I'm going to try and look into this. A few calls later, and I'm going to be having a test ride at one of the local stables on Wednesday! I'm excited, and a little scared -- they'll loan me a helmet and boots, so I don't need to worry about that, at least.
