It might be overly clever, but I think that I chose a good name for this project.
The amphisbaena is a dragonlike creature from medieval mythology that had two heads, one in the regular place and one on the end of the tail. The first head often gnawed on the tail, with the tail-head looping back to gnaw on the tail as well. It spewed poison from both mouths even as it ate itself.
An ouroboros is the tail-eating dragon/snake symbol seen across the world. It has a variety of possible meanings, but in Western mysticism, it is a symbol that commonly refers to the I AM THAT IS, a circle of all things joined into one harmonious, knowing whole. It can also be the symbol for Mercury (element and planet), which is my birth symbol.
The amphisbaena is a version of the ouroboros that, instead of working in calm harmony with the rest of the universe as a whole, tears itself apart, devouring its own body.
I want to go from being self-destructive to being my best self, for everyone's sake.
