Date: 2023-08-28 10:37 pm (UTC)I recommend:
- Gone to Earth (the best Changeling story I have read)
- The Bloody Chamber (a bit marred by bad knockoffs, but it's still the original, the classic, the biggest and best)
- Queen High/Queen Wallis (don't know whether I should recommend it or not, and how. The plot and setting is goofy, the protagonist is intensely punchable, and it's in the "trying to be socially conscious but is incredibly classist" area of Isles literature. But it is endlessly hilarious and very Changeling in its own way)
I do not recommend:
- The Witch of Willow Hall (the protagonist regularly talks about a rape victim having "asked for it". Said rape victim is her sister.)
I recommend it but it's not Changeling:
- A Natural History of Hell (not every story is a winner, but no story is bad. Plenty of good ones!)
